About the Creator

Sandra Equihua is an Emmy Award–winning illustrator and character designer born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico. Inspired by both Mexican and American cultures, she has worked with Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, and Sony Pictures. She won an Emmy for El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and an Annie Award for The Book of Life, both co-created with her husband and longtime collaborator, Jorge R. Gutiérrez.
